Porcelain Veneers

What is the process like with porcelain veneers?

Here Dentist Sebastian uses one of Norway’s foremost dental technicians who makes your porcelain veneers by hand in Oslo. There is a long list of different types of porcelain, but to achieve a beautiful, natural smile we often use feldspathic ceramics or E-max.

It starts with you visiting Dentist Sebastian whom scans your teeth and takes pictures which he then uses to communicate with the technician.

Usually within 10 days you go to the technician and try in a guide with temporary teeth in your mouth. Here is your chance to together with the dental technician share your treatment goals to help shape the look of your new smile.

When you are happy with what has been shown, Dentist Sebastian uses this guide as a base to shape your teeth to create more space for the porcelain*. You go from the clinic with temporary veneers while waiting roughly 10-14 days for your permanent veneers.

Now your permanent veneers are ready!

Today there are three visits planned.

1. Shorter visit at the dentist’s office in the morning to loosen your temporary veneers.

2. Thereafter try-in at the dental technician to approve the fit and visuals of the new veneers.

3. Cementation of the permanent veneers at the dental office.

The process above is mainly applicable to when multiple teeth are being made. For simpler cases the number of visits can often be reduced.

* In some cases the tooth shape does not need to be reduced. Instead you can make so called “non-prep veneers”. This means that you cement veneers directly on top of your teeth without filing/polishing them first. The likelihood of this being possible could be increased if you first go through treatment with for example Invisalign.
